A musical universe blending different styles that WETYWET calls “Frisson( Shiver), Free-son, Free-sound”.

WETYWET’s words: “The words (‘mot’ in frenach) in this track talk about the evils (‘maux’ in french) that I see in our societies.
I chose to express myself with loving words, which help me get through everyday life: If love were our ally every day, there would be no fear, no war, no hatred, no crime, no jealousy, no cruelty.”

De quoi tu as peur ?

In his album titled De quoi tu as peur ?, released under the artist name Kyssi Wète, WETYWET gives free rein to his talent as a songwriter and his sense of melody and arrangement. Written between Canada and France, he explores new sounds inspired by his Congolese roots, his travels, and human encounters. Reggae, afro pop, and French chanson shape his melodies. He talks about living together, approaching it with a poetry and humor enriched by his experience of living across multiple cultures.

De quoi tu as peur ? is reggae, soul, rumba, folk, poetry, humor… and a sonic perspective that embraces cultures !

Ce que tu me donnes

The album Ce que tu me donnes, released in 2010 under the artist name Kyssi Wète, is published by Djanik/Raoul Breton, recorded in Paris at Studio Davout, and continues the momentum of this artist’s long 2007/2009 tour, coming from the live scene. It was also the opportunity for a very nice collaboration with London mixer Derek Février. Human nature is WETYWET’s main source of inspiration. His lyrics are simple and full of poetry. His music celebrates diversity and explores the connections that unite different cultures. With his unique voice, a tone somewhere between rasp, warmth, and softness, he also sings about love, friendship, respect, and trust.
